SAVY is a Lithuanian fintech brand specializing in peer-to-peer lending. SAVY is a Lithuanian fintech brand empowering people to become each other's bank. The platform's core concept is to connect those looking to borrow with those seeking to invest meaningfully and earn a fair return. It’s like the "Uber" offinance, specializing in peer-to-peer lending and crowdfunding. 

Note: We had already worked with the project team, specifically creating a modern automated customer interface. At that time, there was only the web version of the platform, but the owner already had plans to modernize the portal and scale it to mobile devices. This became the reason for the renewed collaboration between SAVY and BuildApps.

The SAVY web portal works well and successfully. However, it is not enough (even with an adaptive GUI) to reach the entire interested audience. Moreover, the lack of a mobile app was the limiting factor preventing the platform from effectively developing and scaling.

The development of a mobile app was planned from the initiation stage, but the implementation of this idea only began relatively recently. The BuildApps team was part of this project.

The collaboration was offered in an outstaffing format, meaning:

• We provide specialists in React Native, RTK Query, SWR, State manager and Zustand and Jest.
• We perform tasks within the client's team with some outsourcing elements, developing a cross-platform app for Android and iOS.
• We participate in testing and deployment of the product.

So, it was a full partnership within a single project. And it cannot be said that the work was easy.

Several developers and QA experts from BuildApps joined the project. Among the requirements for the staff were an excellent knowledge of React Native and expertise in working with fintech solutions. And do you know why? Because the development of the app was accompanied by industry and technical challenges, namely:

• The need for parallel integration with multiple payment systems and identity verification services, as well as banking systems. Consequently, a deep understanding of their APIs and security standards was required.
• The creation of an intuitive GUI suitable for both fintech newcomers and professionals with advanced requirements for apps of this type. This specifically included the implementation of detailed reports and charts.
• Ensuring security, not only for the app itself, its API, and databases, but also for user data, including payment information, transaction data, and more.
• Implementing compliance with EU standards and regulations, the integration of AML/KYC policies, and algorithms for detecting suspicious transactions, etc.
• Optimizing the app’s code and adjusting its performance for the best possible UX when the target audience interacts with the app.

And you know what? We overcame the challenges and completed the tasks. Moreover, we transformed the initial concept and stack, which ensured optimal product quality and laid the foundation for further platform scaling.

The app was recently released, but it has already become a favorite working tool for investors from Lithuania and several EU countries. To date, the app has been downloaded and installed by over 10 thousand users, and this is just the statistics from Google Play.

Clients note the quality of the product, its functionality, and the “mobility” of operations, the ability to control the portfolio, and quick access to the platform’s key tools.

And no, the work on the project is far from finished. We continue to collaborate with the owners of SAVY, modernize the app, and make it even more convenient and useful for users.
